The DC Office of Planning State Data Center Data Visualization Portal is an online, interactive information service that provides people with reliable, up-to-date, trend data on the District of Columbia. We help citizens, agency managers, community leaders and researchers access District-wide and ward level data and statistics for decision-making, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life in our communities.
The data presented were obtained from the US Census Bureau, Population Division Annual Estimates; US Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 1-Year and 5-Year Estimates, and the District of Columbia Office of Planning Building Permits data. The data provided by the dashboards cover a variety of District-wide and ward indicators ranging from population size to poverty rates, and can be broken down by year, age, race, or gender. As the project grows, we hope these dashboards will help users get the analysis they need to support strategic planning, policymaking, and business development.
In addition to our core activity of providing District-wide and ward data content online, we provide a limited amount of free technical assistance and training on how to access Census Bureau data to many local non-profits, governments, researchers, and community organizations, as well as the general public.
